GRANTS AWARDED FOR 2009

1. Grand Traverse Catholic Schools - God's Safe Children Curriculum; a program with the objective of helping all students identify risk factors, prevention strategies and identification of trusted adults they can tell if they are being abused

2. Doula Teen Parent Program - serves high-risk first time young parents

3. Kalkaska Teen Health Corner - This program serves an alternative high school and targets teens about to give birth or are already parents. They teach about their baby's development and parenting skills.

4. Kalkaska Public Schools - Project Protect - This program is designed to help students/families understand, discuss, and prevent sexual abuse.

5. Leelanau County Family Coordinating Council - Easy To Love Project This program is based on the Conscious Discipline series and provides seven months of coordinated parent education programming to families concurrent with a staff in-service program in each of the four Leelanau school districts.

6. Michigan State University Extension - Kalkaska County - The Association for Children's Mental Health (ACMH) will conduct monthly support groups for families/caregivers of children and youth with emotional, behavioral, substance abuse, and/or mental challenges. These groups will provide education, advocacy, support and networking opportunities in the group setting.
